Cephalogics hires Russ Herrig as head of Research and Development.

Boston, MA - Cephalogics is pleased to announce that Russ Herrig has joined its team as head of Research & Development. Russ is a medical device engineering executive with 30 years of engineering and product development experience in the medical device industry. Russ will be responsible for managing, guiding, directing, and integrating all technology and prototype development activities including overseeing subcontractors.
Russ will provide technical leadership by integrating clinical, market, business, regulatory, and technical requirements. “We are thrilled to have Russ onboard,” said Jeff Caputo, General Manager of Cephalogics. “We are off to a terrific start and will benefit greatly from his experiences."
“I’m very excited about the development of the Cephalogics technology,” Russ explained. “It meets a clearly identified unmet need in neurocritical care.” Omar Amirana, MD, head of Life Sciences at Allied Minds, added, “We are very pleased to have his expertise complementing the work that Jeff has initiated. We have the basis of a lean but strong team working with terrific physicians."
Prior to joining Cephalogics, Russ was Director of Software Engineering at Covidien and Sr Director of Emerging Technologies Engineering at Aspect Medical. Previously, Russ worked for two different medical device start ups. Russ started his career at Haemonetics where he spent 18 years in various engineering roles rising to VP of R&D. Russ earned a masters degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and his BS in Biomedical Sciences from Iowa State University.
