Allied Minds Expands Activities in the US

Investment firm Allied Minds closes major funding round with the support of Invesco Perpetual, and expands partner network of research institutes
Boston, Massachusetts - Allied Minds, a seed investment corporation specializing in early stage university technology ventures, announced today it secured a major funding round led by Invesco Perpetual (on behalf of its funds under management), part of the INVESCO PLC group, one of the largest independent investment management organizations. Allied Minds will use the proceeds to make additional investments in technology spinouts from its network of premier research universities and government laboratories as well as to expand its corporate infrastructure. Terms were not disclosed.

Allied Minds also announced today the addition of the University of Washington and a US government research laboratory to its group of select partner research institutions. By creating a dynamic partnership network with leading US research universities and laboratories, Allied Minds gains access to leading-edge technology generated approximately $6 billion of public and private research funding and gains access to over 25,000 leading scientists including a number of nobel laureates.

University of Washington joins a select group of research institutes associated with Allied Minds to include: Boston University, Colorado State University, Cornell University, Tufts University, University of Arkansas, University of Colorado, University of Michigan , University of Missouri, University of Nebraska Medical Center, University of Nebraska Lincoln, University of New Mexico, Vanderbilt University, Washington University in St. Louis, Wayne State University, and a soon-to-be-announced national (government) laboratory.
