Future Goals

Precision Biopsy’s novel imaging technology will permit physicians to determine, on a real-time basis, whether the tip of a biopsy needle has detected the presence of cancerous tissue prior to removing a sample of the prostate. This unique ability permits a view into the organ that has been unachievable with any other imaging technology.

With this platform technology, the potential for increasing the accuracy of many types of biopsies, including breast cancer, will be realized. In the future, invasive biopsies will no longer be blindly guided by remote images or “feel,” but instead will provide accurate, quantitative information available during the procedure itself.
