This distinct expression system provides considerable potential for cell-based screening, cell labeling, detecting chemicals or drugs that induce cell death, and developing techniques to deliver targeted bioactive proteins into stressed/dying cells to regulate cell survival. By virtue of being able to see dynamic changes in cells, researchers will be in a position to advance our knowledge about the effect of apoptosis on the development and progression of cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular disorders, and other problems.
