Overview

Allied Minds has teamed with the University of Michigan to establish Biotectix, LLC to develop and commercialize bioactive, conductive polymer materials and coatings specifically tailored to enhance a wide variety of implantable medical devices. These novel materials bridge the biotic-abiotic interface, join conductive systems ionically and electronically, and improve MRI compatibility and safety.

The technology represents a significant gain in terms of biocompatibility and device performance, resulting in improved safety, longevity, reliability, biological integration, and function of implantable biomedical devices. The Biotectix technology platform also makes it possible to design and create next-generation all-polymer leads that may be grown in the body. Biotectix grew out of research on the use of conducting polymers for biocompatible electrodes led by Drs. David Martin, Sarah Richardson-Burns, and Jeffrey Hendricks at the University of Michigan.
