Biotectix’s patent-pending technology will be marketed to leading medical device manufacturers worldwide. It can improve the performance of clinical implantable cardiovascular, neuromodulation, auditory, and others devices. Drug-eluting stents, prosthetic limb devices, and intra-operative electrodes represent additional applications.

Biotectix’s primary market includes implantable biomedical device manufacturers and medical device coatings manufacturers. The application of bioactive and conductive materials solves challenging problems for these manufacturers, including battery life, immune rejection, and other aspects of device performance and biocompatibility. The Biotectix technology platform allows for the engineering of next generation all-polymer leads that can improve device functionality and safety even more and help the manufacturers gain further competitive advantages. The market for active and nanotechnology medical coatings is growing rapidly and is forecast to exceed $2 billion by 2010.

Other potential opportunities include the research, diagnostics, and surgery markets as well as non-life science market opportunities such as fuel cells.
